Ladera Ranch Amenities Community Environmental Architectural
The open space areas of Ladera Ranch are proposed to be protected through a conservation easement resulting in the permanent preservation of approximately 1,600 acres of natural terrain encompassing such diverse habitats as coastal sage scrub, coast live oak woodlands, native grasslands, and riparian ecosystems. Collectively, the Ladera Ranch open space represents a significant element of the concepts for the Natural Community Conservation Planning Program (NCCP).
In addition, Ladera Ranch has been designed to provide housing for South Orange County’s high-tech, biotech, R&D, and light-industrial employment sectors now experiencing dynamic growth. By providing housing near Orange County employment centers, Ladera Ranch helps reduce both total vehicle miles traveled (VMT) and the importation of traffic from adjacent counties.
